Abstract
This paper examines the social and political functions social color cecity serves for Caucasians in the United States. I argue that colorblindness maintains white right by negating racial inequity. Embracing a post race, colour-blind perspective allows Caucasians to imagine that being Caucasian or African American or Asian has no bearing on an individuals place in the socio-economic hierarchy, starting with the deep held belief that America is a meritocracy.

Color blindness, in my opinion, means America will never be free of racism. If the United State moves toward a color-blind society, thither will be certainly significant problems if this country were to at last achieve that. Yet, the integritys of this nation are in conflict with this plan. This was the Amendment saying that the United States would not tolerate discrimination and that states could not advantage one convocation of citizens over another. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was an reaffirmation of the Equal Protection clause and is an explicit statement that the United States shall not discriminate. If we further look as far at these laws on the books, we will find that this country is in fact already a color-blind society.
