Mount Pinatubo located on the island of Luzon in the Philippines is a volcano located 55 miles northwesterly of the capital city of Manila. Before the blast Mount Pinatubo was cover with luscious vegetation and was home to more than 30,000 people who lived in villages on its slopes. Thousands of people lived in the region of the volcano which include US Military personnel stationed at Clark Air miserly (Mount Pinatubo). Mount Pinatubo is part of a chain of mixed volcanoes along the Luzon emission on the west coast of the island. The arc of volcanoes is due to the seduction of the Manila trench to the west.
