Ancient Greece was the birthplace of Western civilization about tertiary millennium to the 1st century. They were known for their philosophy, architecture, drama, government, and science. Greek writers created forms of expressions, by human personalities and emotions. The Greek World The territory of ancient Greece consisted of a mountainous peninsula that went into the Mediterranean Sea west coast of Asia Minor and nearby islands. A slick of land isolated the southern part of Greece, called the Peloponnesus, to the northern part of the mainland.
