Our yojimbo then harvest-feast to turn the two competing yakuza gangs against each other, a not horribly difficult ploy as our villains in this movie seem to have intellectual capacity that is proportionally lower ground on the hideousness of their moral and physical appearance. Between our antihero and the antagonists, it is difficult to abide by anyone to empathize with - at least, until it is revealed that the yojimbo just might have a heart of gold underneath his hardened and gruff carapace as he saves a peasant family in the marrow of the film.
