Narrative Essay 1 “A Second Opinion” By: ENG 101, English Composition Marilee Walker November 29, 2010 1 I love the old saying “ liveness is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your red ink to get.” You can plan and prepare for manner alone you lack and it helps, but there are some things in life that are just meant to be. Professionals can tell you their opinion. We have all been programmed to trust the Professional’s opinion. But, hey, that’s why it’s called an opinion. I am so glad that this one judgment of conviction in life, my wife and I did not trust the jump opinion. It all started when my wife went to the reestablish because she was having upset in her abdomen. The doctor performed the usual tests. The doctor suspected an ovarian cyst. With that, we were sent for an ultrasound. The ultrasound came back confirming an ovarian cyst. We decided to go foot and wait it out to see if it would go away or get larger. The pain appeared to get better in just about a week. Life went back to normal. Then, a couple of weeks later, bam! The pain returned. Back to the doctor we go. The doctor performed his examination and again, diagnosed an ovarian cyst. My wife refused to accept that and asked for the ultrasound to be performed again.



It was like she just knew it was something else. I have learned that women seem to have that sixth scent out ability that men just do not seem to possess or maybe we do not reconcile attention. Of course my wife believes it to be the latter. We go for the ultrasound. I was shocked. She was decline! The cyst had turned into our second child. I was joyful and panic-stricken all at the same time. We were sent home with our minuscule bag of new muck up goodies and told to be back in a month. The following month’s appointment however, would not be so joyous. The doctor then told us, do to my wife’s age, she would need some additional tests to ensure that the baby would be healthy.
